The woman who came for one thing and found herself instead.
What brought her here was a quest, her words exactly: "I'm on a quest to know who I am, to discover me, to get to know me, and to love me."
"I am literally a different person than I was before... I live differently. I show up differently. I speak from a different place."
One of the coolest things about Rachel is that she had already done the bravest part before she found Jessie. She faced the fears and limitations all around her and she broke free of deep generational cages. She liberated not just herself but her children too. And if you've ever broken free of a religion, a construct, a marriage or anything that had become a cage, you know the dirty secret nobody tells you: freedom from them alone doesn't always equal peace and joy.
There was a season, in another life, when Rachel had absolutely everything. And she felt dead inside. She lay on the floor of her closet surrounded by all her beautiful designer things, and she said they might as well have been laughing at her. She literally didn't want to be here anymore.
Hold that picture. Now hear her in the middle of this journey, on the morning walks she started taking by the river. Just walking. A bench. Birds. Trees.
"I'm walking in my bliss of this just BEing... I thought... if right now, I don't need anything. There's nothing in the world that would make me feel better than I feel right now. I feel joyful. I feel peaceful. I feel tranquil. I feel connected to me."
A moment with almost nothing in it, but everything in her. Embodied presence.
First came the breakthroughs. Boundaries that once felt terrifying became simple and calm. "Grounded, not pushy, not angry, calm, firm. I don't know who I am, but I love it." Her dance teacher started asking what was happening to her. She named it herself: soft power, softness as strength.
Then the work opened a second chapter, one she didn't know to want: receiving. Being held. Surrender. "Something else is holding me. I don't have to hold me."
Somewhere past fifty, she found "I'm not broken. The brokenness in me is what makes me so beautiful." And the change stopped being a session thing and became a life thing: "My body has unlocked in a manner that it continues to respond even when I'm not doing the work."
"I don't have half of what I had then, but I'm so full."
"I can get somewhat below the surface on my own, but I can never get the depth that I get with you."on the guide
"I have this sense of deserving and worthiness, and it's not in my head. I don't think I've ever felt it. Now I know that inside me it's there."session twelve
"Thank you so so much, Jessie. There are places I could never ever go, or I wouldn't even know that there is a place to go to."session thirteen
