The Love Goddess’s earthly incarnation is Dalma Heyn, M.S.W., whose bestselling books, The Erotic Silence of the American Wife, Marriage Shock: The Transformation of Women into Wives and Drama Kings: The Men Who Drive Strong Women Crazy, have been translated into 30 languages. She has written two relationship columns in national magazines, was the editor-in-chief of Health Magazine and executive editor of McCall’s, and has appeared—without her Goddess’ wings–on The Charlie Rose show, Oprah!, The View, Good Morning America, The Today Show, and Larry King Live.

She is also a psychotherapist. “I have a long history–twenty-five years–of speaking about love,” Dalma says, “and have built up trust with my clients and audience. I see a context for sexuality and intimacy that is a bit different from that of other therapists and experts.  My view takes pressure off couples themselves as the cause of love’s many heartaches and looks at cultural and historical reasons, often internalized, as explanations for women’s infamous loss of self in relationships.
